No new spelling words this week of January 15th. We are doing double periods of English. We are working on plural nouns and Similes. Each journal entry will need to include a simile. In our "E" copybook we have a Simile Sheet with examples to help us.

In Reading all the children will be placed into three groups and will be assigned a chapter book to read with me. All work will be done in class. Assessments will include oral fluency, comprehension questions, comprehension skills such as plot, character traits, story sequence maps, fiction vs. nonfiction. We will continue with Story Town lessons for spelling and phonics.

Cursive Writing-- We are practicing our lower case letters in a new manuscript tablet and any homework will be completed in Book 6. Only practice the letters that we have learned together.

January Book Report and Book It Due January 31st. Please use character trait paper.
