SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!!

Math: Chapter Review & Check My Progress

Check my Progress and Chapter Review should to be signed after corrections are made. They are graded in class and corrections are made that night. This is truly the best way to “study” and review all material before a test.

The assignments is worth 10 points. They are not graded on accuracy; completing the review on time, making corrections, and reviewing the material with an adult is how students receive full credit.

I know it’s a lot, but studying for math tests are often overlooked and building this foundation is important in order to progress throughout the year.

In preparation for 5th grade, please see our trimester 3 expectations below:

Trimester 3 Expectations:

Missing Assignment/improper conduct = Think About It

2 Think About Its in a week = Demerit

3 Demerits in 1 trimester = Detention

Missing assignment:

Day one: 5 point off

Day two: 10 points off

Day 3: 1/2 points off

Update: Please sign your child's planner nightly

Dismissal

We are dismissing out of the nurses door. Your child will have to check-in with us when a parent or guardian is found. This process may take a few weeks to fine tune. Once dismissed, do not send your child back into the school for books, bathroom, etc.. Teachers are not able to supervise students once dismissed.

Vacations & Assignments

Per the school handbook - absence from school during the academic year due to family vacations is strongly discouraged. Missed work and assignments may only be obtained upon return. Students will have the same number of days they are absent to complete their missed work. Students who are absent from school may not participate in any after school or evening school sponsored events such as sports, dances, etc.

Virtus

In order to volunteer in the classroom - lunch duty, field trips, and/classroom parties - volunteers must be VIRTUS approved and have a valid state issued ID when checking in (whether lunch is inside or out). A mask is required and volunteers will not be allowed in the buildings if they do not have a mask when mandated.

Please make sure that your VIRTUS certification is updated. Contact Mrs. Bell bbell@smsch.org for this info. Virtus must be renewed every 5 years and there are many families throughout the school that need a certification update.

Parents are unable to volunteer during lunch, field trips, and holiday parties without the proper certification.

(This process takes 2-3 weeks.)

New Families: Please contact Mrs. Bell and she'll send over all necessary information. bbell@smsch.org
