Technology in the Classroom

Since we are 1:1 Chromebooks and use Google Classroom, we will use a lot of "digital content." This page will give you links and explain what the education technology (EdTech) is and how to use it. This is not a full list of what we will use.  Some techs may be added as I (or you) find them.

Also, we do not do everything digitally.  You will still have some paper/pencil assignments and hands-on projects.

Most of the digital resources that I use can be logged in with your Google Account.  Make sure you are logged in before starting anything to ensure it saves to your account.

We will use Desmos as a graphing calculator.  It is a quick, easy digital tool to create parabolas, linear equations, scatterplots, and so much more. It's so easy that it feels like cheating.

There are also a lot of interactive activities in Desmos that we will use in class.

GeoGebra is a great tool for creating and measuring 2D and 3D shapes.

What you can graph on paper, you can graph even quicker in GeoGebra.  There are also a lot of activities within Geogebra that we will use in class.

Quizizz is an online quiz game.  I like to use it because you can work at your own pace.  There is plenty of time to work problems and you move to the next problem when you are ready, not as a whole class.  I can also assign quizzes for you to work on during your own time.

When you think of Quizlet, your probably think of a place to put your vocabulary words.  There is so much more to Quizlet.

We not only use it for adding vocabulary, but also use Quizlet Live to study our vocabulary.

Gimkit is another online quiz game. Gimkit is different from all other online quizzes because you earn money for each one you answer questions, then you can use that money to buy things that help you make even more money.  It is fun to see how much money the class can make.

We will use GoFormative for formative and summative assessments.

Formative assessments are assessments that I use to check your mastery and determine if you need more help before moving on.

Summative assessments are assessments that are "wrap up" or ending assessments.  They are more final assessments than formative assessments - like mid unit quizzes or end of unit tests.

We will use Canva to create digital and printable math graphics.
