On Monday we traveled south from Reykjavík to explore more of Iceland. Our first stop was the snow covered Thingvellir National Park. The cold air and wide open views made it a memorable start to the day.
After leaving the park, we headed to see our first Icelandic waterfall. Even though it was cold, everyone enjoyed taking pictures and exploring the area around the falls.
Next, we stopped to visit some Icelandic horses. We got to feed them “horse candy” and pet them.
We ended the day with a stop at a gift shop where people picked up souvenirs and small reminders of the trip. After a full day of traveling and sightseeing, it was a nice way to wrap things up.
