TUES, MAR 10 (Pavilion, 9am-3pm):
History of DAW's & The Basics of Garage Band
We will be starting with a little history of the Digital Audio Workstation and how it evolved into Garage Band, and an Intro to professional systems. We'll use a series of instructional videos from one of my favorite online teachers which you can find here: Garage Band Explained.
Bring Lunch!
We'll get our workstations dialed in and start composing! We'll make use of Apple Loops, software instruments and the "Drummer" feature.
WEDS, MAR 11 (Pavilion, 9am-3pm):
WorkFlow! Deeper Dive, Songwriting & Arranging
We deepen our understanding of the elements of recording, and developing your own personal workflow. We'll work on recording "real" audio (vocals, guitar etc.), editing regions, making musical decisions and processing with effects (reverb, delay, compressors etc.).
Bring Lunch!
We'll discuss the elements of songwriting, arranging and production.

Day Trip to Visit Narāda Michael Walden @ Tarpan Studio, San Rafael
Please meet at the Pavilion no later than 9:30 am. We will depart at 10am for a visit to legendary drummer and producer Narāda Michael Walden's personal studio, Tarpan, in San Rafael.
