from the Community Service Letter (see Documents tab) sent home in October:
"Through community service (philanthropy of time and talents), students can grow and develop in ways not always possible in a classroom. Also, through service experience(s), they begin to learn what it means to be a helpful member of the community by gaining skills, developing a sense of pride, and becoming more caring. Research also supports that those who help others are happier!"
