Hello,
My name is Holly Schoen. I am the PE teacher here at SMMA. This is my Fourth Year at SMMA school. If you have questions or concerns, please email me through fast direct.
I am excited to welcome your child to another fun and active year in Physical Education! Throughout the school year, students in grades K–8 will participate in a variety of games, activities, and fitness challenges designed to build physical skills and teamwork. Younger students will focus on developing their basic motor skills—such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, and balancing—through fun, age-appropriate games like relay races, tag variations, parachute play, and obstacle courses. Older students will expand on these skills while learning rules, strategies, and good sportsmanship in sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and kickball.
In addition to skill-based games, all students will take part in fitness activities . We will work on cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and coordination through stations, circuit workouts, and some fitness games. Cooperative activities and team challenges will help students practice communication, problem-solving, and respect for others. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment where every student feels encouraged to try their best and stay active. Thank you for your support in helping your child come prepared for PE with the right shoes and a positive attitude.
