August 17 - 18
PreK - Simple Songs
Kindergarten - All Kindergarten still will not be present so we play simple musical games or sing basic songs about following directions, colors, shapes, etc.
1st & 2nd - "Cut The Cake" - A simple get to know each other song/game to help students feel more comfortable singing with their new classmates. This is also a fun way to start off the school year in music.
August 24-25
PreK- Song for following practicing how to follow directions.
Kindergarten - Everyone in a class attends music for the first time! "Book of Rules", a silly book about rules. We go over basic drills and procedures and get to know everyone. (Up to this point I will not have seen everyone.)
Kindergarten - Songs about listening skills & colors! "What are you wearing?" & "Colors" These songs give multiple directions all while enjoying fun songs.
1st & 2nd - First big song of the year! "I Love To Smile" We will start to work into our very first song of this school year. For 1st grade this can be a big deal because they are having to learn words that they may not be able to read. (We take our time and talk about ways to help learn words to a song.) For 2nd grade this is a great song to work those vocal skills and get back into the swing of things. And the song has a great message about being positive!
