Tiger Time

My name is Amy Manning, and I am an RTI Paraprofessional with Smith County Schools, where I have proudly served for 29 years.

My journey in education began as a secretary at the Smith County Vocational School and Smith County Middle School. In 2003, I transferred to GES and discovered my true passion: working directly with students. As an RTI paraprofessional, I specialize in small-group instruction and classroom inclusion, helping students build essential skills and confidence. There is nothing more rewarding than providing extra encouragement to students and watching them grow and succeed each day.

Outside of school, my husband, Tommy, and I have been happily married for 41 years. We are blessed with two children and six grandchildren. In my free time, I love spending quality time with my family—especially my grandkids—as well as reading, traveling, camping, hiking, shopping, and crocheting.

     I began my career with the school system in 2019 as a paraprofessional and now have the privilege of working in RTI. My journey here is especially meaningful because I’m also a proud graduate of our county schools! Having once been a student in this same school system, it’s incredibly rewarding to now be on the other side, supporting students as they learn, grow, and find their own paths to success.

     Outside of school, I’m a wife, a proud mom of four, and an even prouder grandmother to one sweet granddaughter. One of my children is still a student in the county, which makes it even more special that our family continues to be part of this school community.

     One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know my students, building meaningful relationships with them, and celebrating their accomplishments—both big and small. I’m grateful to be part of a school community that has been such an important part of my own life and my family’s. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and make a positive difference in the lives of our students each day!
