Welcome to 6th Grade! This year, students will embark on an engaging journey through world history and deep literary exploration. Our curriculum integrates critical reading, analytical writing, and historical inquiry to help students build essential skills for middle school and beyond.
Reading Language Arts (RLA)
Our RLA curriculum focuses on developing strong readers, expressive writers, and critical thinkers. Students will analyze complex literary and informational texts, expand their vocabulary, and refine their writing through narrative, argumentative, and informative essays.

Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis: Exploring themes of resilience, family, and historical context during the Great Depression.

In 6th Grade Social Studies, students explore the origins of human civilization, early river valley societies, and major classical empires across the globe.
Early Civilizations: Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, the Indus Valley, and Ancient China.
Ancient Empires: Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, and early African and Asian cultures.
Geography & Culture: Analyzing maps, understanding trade routes, and exploring how geography shaped human development and cultural exchange.
