Welcome to 4th Grade!
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be your child’s 4th grade teacher this year!
Teaching is my passion, and this year marks a special milestone for me—it’s my 20th year in education and my very first year teaching 4th grade! Over the past two decades, I’ve spent 16 years in 1st grade, 2 years in Kindergarten, and 2 years teaching 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies. Best of all, I am a former DES student (I attended here from 3rd through 8th grade!), so teaching at DES this year truly feels like coming home.
When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll almost certainly find me on a field or court! Together, my husband, Cody, and I have four amazing kids who keep us busy with sports year-round:
Austin: A sophomore at GHS who plays baseball for the GHS Tigers.
Wyatt ("Rooster"): A 3rd grader at DES who plays youth football for the Owls and also plays basketball.
Georgia Sue: A 2nd grader at DES who cheers and plays flag football for the Owls, and plays basketball.
Beckett: Our youngest, who isn't quite in school yet, but is our biggest cheerleader!
Cody serves as the head coach for the Smith County Junior Owls and helps coach the SCHS Owls. As a family, we love cheering each other on and watching our kids learn invaluable life lessons through youth sports.
In my downtime, I love:
Relaxing and spending quality time with my family
Listening to good audiobooks and podcasts
Being a proud DES Brave once again!
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and fun together! Please feel free to reach out anytime—let's make this the best year yet!
