Step 8: Permesso di Soggiorno - Take these materials to Florence!

The documents listed below are required to apply for your Permesso di Soggiorno (Residence Permit). The Permesso di Soggiorno application must be made within eight days of your arrival in Florence, so pack these documents in your carry-on luggage. During the arrival orientation you will be taken to the appropriate office in Florence to submit these materials.

1. Your passport with visa

2. Smith acceptance letter with Italian Consulate stamp (this will come with your passport and visa from the LGSC). This letter is the most important document for your Permesso di Soggiorno – do not lose it!

3. Health insurance letter in Italian – will be returned to you with your passport and visa.

4. Eight passport photos
