About Us

This site and the videos linked from it are produced by the school psychologists and mental health clinicians of the San Mateo-Foster City School District:

  • Amy Allen, Ph.D., NCSP, LMFT, is the school psychologist at Sunnybrae Elementary and North Shoreview Montessori. She provides individual counseling to students as well as socio-emotional and behavioral support for classroom teachers. She enjoys walking her small precocious dog, watching cooking championship shows, and listening to Miles Davis.

  • Connie Chan, M.S., is the school psychologist at LEAD and Highlands Elementary. She enjoys supporting students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, positive behaviors, and executive functioning skills. She also enjoys reading, exercising, and trying new foods.

  • Adelina Finn, M.S., is the school psychologist at Fiesta Gardens International School and is a part of the Spanish Bilingual Preschool Assessment Team. Adelina believes assessment professionals play a crucial role in advocating for youth in the schools and that all parents love their children and want the best for them. However, it’s not always easy to know what to do or who to ask for help. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children and her husband.

  • Chelsea Fuller, M.A., AMFT, is an ERMHS provider at Abbott and Bowditch Middle Schools as well as Brewer Island, Highlands, and Foster City Elementary Schools. She enjoys working with students using CBT, psychoeducation, art therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness techniques. On her off time she enjoys playing video games and Muay Thai.

  • Anka Gleber, Ph.D., LMFT, is the school psychologist at Borel Middle School, and also works on the district-wide bilingual assessment team (Spanish-language evaluations). She loves helping students learn, problem-solve, and express themselves. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and discovering new foods.

  • John-Michael Gomez, M.A., NCSP, LEP, is the school psychologist at Bayside Academy (K-8). He enjoys providing individual and group counseling sessions with students and is well versed in Strong Kids, Social Thinking, and Zones of Regulation curriculums. He also enjoys going to Giants games and playing with his dog!

  • Cece Hollis, Ed.S., NCSP, is the school psychologist at Bowditch Middle School and Audubon Elementary School. She enjoys learning new mindfulness practices including moving mindfulness (yoga) and integrating them into her life and the lives of her students whom she sees for small group and individual counseling. Ms. Cece is also a part-time indoor cycling instructor who loves running, reading, and traveling.

  • Lauren Marques, M.S., LEP, is a member of the Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) team and the school psychologist at Parkside Elementary. She enjoys providing individual and group counseling sessions with students and is well versed in Kimochis, Social Thinking, and Zones of Regulation curriculums. She also enjoys going to Sharks games, trying new recipes, and playing with her husky.

  • Elaine Chen Lay, Ed.S. NCSP, LEP is the school psychologist for Meadow Heights Elementary, private parochial schools, and nonpublic schools. She is also a behaviorist and primarily focuses on supporting children with behavioral needs, executive functioning, and self-regulation. She enjoys online quarantine shopping (to build her kitchen appliances), baking, exercising, and spending time with her family.

  • Marie Le-Eloy, Ph.D., is the school psychologist for San Mateo Park Elementary and the Educationally-Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) Facilitator for the district. Marie has a research background in developmental psychology, with interests in social and moral development. She enjoys jazz music, and improving on her cello.

  • Summer Letcher-Smith, M.A., Ed.S., is an ERMHS team member and school psychologist at George Hall Elementary School and College Park Elementary School. She is passionate about social-emotional learning and inclusion and loves teaching about feelings, mindfulness, growth mindset, social skills, and coping strategies in whole-class lessons, group counseling, individual counseling, and in staff professional development. For self-care, Ms. Summer enjoys dancing, journaling, yoga, and spending time in nature.

  • Dean Paquette, M.A., AMFT, is the ERMHS therapist at Borel Middle school and Bayside Academy. He has a background and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, and work with LGBTQ+ youth. His Dalmatian dog, Pixie is a constant companion. He is currently studying Zen Buddhist Precepts at the San Francisco Zen Center and is a former sea kayaking instructor.

  • Christina Reeser, M.A.E. is the school psychologist and ERMHS provider at Baywood and Laurel Elementary Schools. She enjoys learning about and incorporating various aspects of mindfulness, positive psychology, and art therapy into her counseling sessions with students. When time permits, she enjoys camping with her family in the summer, playing with her 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier, reading, and exercising.

  • Leela Silva, M.A., Ed.S, is the school psychologist at Abbott Middle School and Beresford Elementary School. In addition, Ms. Silva provides individual counseling including crisis counseling involving coping strategies, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches. She enjoys push-in support in various classrooms including behavior management support for classroom teachers. In her spare time, Ms. Silva attempts to travel as frequently as possible as well as an avid yogi, runner, baker, and reader.

  • Greg Sheehan, M.A., is the school psychologist intern at Abbott Middle School, Bayside Academy, and Beresford Elementary school. He provides individual counseling for several students and has a background in applied behavioral analysis (ABA), which he uses to provide behavioral support to teachers. He loves going to Giants games with his wife and two-year-old son, and going on walks with his dog, Chewie.

  • S. Sven Swenson, M.S., LEP is a school psychologist assigned to lead one of the District’s Preschool Assessment teams. Sven is also a member of the SMFCSD LGBTQ+ Inclusion Team. Sven is currently completing her Doctorate in Educational Psychology and will update this bio to include “other interests” once time permits her to have any.

  • Deborah Wolk, M.S., NCSP, is the school psychologist at Foster City and Brewer Island Elementary. She has a background in working with elementary and preschool students, identification of learning and developmental differences, teaching emotional regulation strategies, and she enjoys creating fun and individualized behavior interventions. Outside of school, she likes to bake, garden and hang out with her husband and cats.
