This is Mrs. Hourani’s fifteenth year of teaching Music at SMdP School. She is also the Music Director of St. Martin de Porres Church. Mrs. Hourani received her BA in Voice and Theater from St. Mary of –the –Woods College in IN, studied Vocal Performance, and Pedagogy at Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, IN, and earned a MS in Counseling from Manhattan College. Mrs. Hourani has performed the lead roles in the following musicals and operas: Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Carousel, South Pacific, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Bells Are Ringing, Godspell, 1776, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, and Mame. She was in the chorus of Puccini’s “La Boheme”, Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” and Verdi’s “La Traviata”. In 2012, Mrs. Hourani directed her first musical at SMDP, Annie Jr., 2013, The Little Mermaid Jr., 2014, High School Musical Jr. 2015, The Sound of Music, young performer’s edition in 2015, The Wizard of Oz, Young Performers Edition in 2016, The Lion King Jr. in 2017, Aladdin Jr. in 2018, and Cinderella, young performer’s edition in 2018. Mrs. Hourani and her husband have three grown children, Nadia, Stephanie, and Greg. She has one grandson who is her love! Mrs. Hourani loves her many SMdP students, her three church choirs, her many fur babies at home, Morjayne her German Shepherd, and three male cats. Mrs. Hourani’s hobbies are gardening, baking and reading.
