It's been an exciting first week. We have had some schedule changes, and all the students were flexible and did well adjusting. We will continue iReady testing for ELA and Math next week, so please have kiddos well rested and well fed coming into school each day (it's a good starting point for success). We have curriculum night next week; looking forward to meeting with all of you and discussing what your students will be learning this year. Tuesday, we will have school pictures. Students are to arrive in their regular uniform. We will need to change into our PE uniforms following pictures, but they may wear that for the remainder of the day.
With the new year comes uniform policy reminders. Please double-check that ALL skirts and shorts are no more than a post-it note above the knee. Many of our students have grown substantially over the summer. Additionally, no false nails or bright colors are allowed, so please take time to get back into the routine of school. There are also jewelry guidelines that parents should review. Thank you for your attention to these details.
While it might still be warm outside, our classroom is not! Please have a school sweatshirt, 1/4 zip, or fleece each day for your student to wear in class. They might even want to leave one in their locker during the week and bring it home to launder over the weekends. I'm wearing one each day, so more than likely they will need one as well.
We had a fun first week getting to know one another, and I look forward to having a great school year!
