About Mrs. Wiedmeier

Hi there!  My name is Meagan Wiedmeier and I am very excited to be teaching third grade for the 2023-2024 school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know a little about me.  I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho (2800 miles away near Washington and Oregon!) and attended Catholic school until college. I earned my degree from the University of Idaho (Go Vandals!) and worked in various roles within healthcare for 18 years, with my final 10 working in Rheumatology as a musculoskeletal sonographer and office nurse.  I thoroughly enjoyed my work and all the amazing relationships I made during that time.

I moved with my husband and our children to North Carolina in 2017 to pursue his career.  We lived in the research triangle for two years, moved to Wilmington in 2019, and just fell in love with this friendly coastal community.  I have two sons and one daughter (Katie 8th), Fletcher (1st), and Grant (who is in heaven).   We also have two dogs (Duke and Ellie), 3 guinea pigs (Hammie, Ginny, and Frankie), and lots of fish.  We have been blessed to be a part of St Mark Catholic Church and School and have enjoyed the faith-based family we have made here.  When we toured the campus we all knew and said it felt like home.  We even have the same school colors and plaid that I wore growing up!!

After my son passed my heart knew I wasn’t ready to jump back into nursing and that my heart was leading me elsewhere.  After much reflection I returned to school. I received my Residency Teaching License and felt that God was calling me to help guide the next generation of leaders, so here I am! I made my transition from being a teaching assistant to teaching in the last quarter of last year and couldn’t be happier.

In my free time I enjoy the beach, kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, camping, hiking, horseback riding, and just about anything outdoors!  I also love watching my kids participate in their various sports and activities (soccer, volleyball, cheer and lacrosse).  I am an active member of our local Scottish community and occasionally dance at Highland Games throughout the Southeast Region. I am also addicted to Pilates!

If you see me around campus, please stop and say hello.  I’d love to meet you!  I am looking forward to a great school year!
