I love to celebrate good behavior and hard work! I also believe in having a classroom where every student feels safe, comfortable, happy, and feels cared for. I want each student to succeed to his or her highest potential and I will do everything I can to make that happen. Communication with parents is key to making a classroom run smoothly Therefore, each day your child will receive a green heart, yellow or red dot inside their folder to indicate your child's behavior for the day. If a yellow or red dot is indicated, you will get a brief description of the behavior(s) observed. This will enforce clear communication between the teacher and parent. Each day you will need to initial their folder to indicate you have seen it.
I am very excited to be working with your child this year. We have so many things to learn! For learning to take place and for our classroom to run smoothly; we have developed a class behavior plan. Our classroom is a positive learning environment. Students will receive positive feedback and encouragement as they grow in their ability to control their behavior. We will also use a system called "bucket fillers." Students will earn poms poms for their buckets for good behavior, making smart choices, having a positive attitude, using kind words, cleaning up after themselves, etc. When their bucket is filled, the student will be able to pick a prize from the treasure chest. Hopefully motivating students to earn as much as they can will instill positive behaviors. My hope is that it becomes less of a reward and more about becoming a disciple of Jesus.
