National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) 

What is the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)?  

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has been a nationally recognized program since 1929, which elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

What are the eligibility requirements? 

• Must be 6th, 7th, or 8th grade

• Must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at SMCS

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.9 (maintain a running average of 98 and above)

• Considered based upon the five pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship

• Must have been in good standing during academic career at SMCS

Students meeting the initial criteria above will receive a Student Information Packet to complete for further consideration during the second semester.
