What does the U.S. Constitution mean to you? Our local American Legion Auxiliary in Ridge is seeing how many students would be interested in their oratorical contest. The purpose of the contest is to develop knowledge and appreciation of the United States Constitution, the ability to think and speak clearly and critically, and the acceptance of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship. Each year, we have the opportunity to see a variety of plays by the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C..
The oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York just got busted and Nathan Detroit needs cold hard cash to get it up and running again. Enter high-roller Sky Masterson, who Nathan wagers can’t get a date with the straightlaced Sarah Brown, a Salvation Army missionary trying to save them all from sin. Directed by Washington National Opera Artistic Director Francesca Zambello and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse (Smash, Bull Durham), dance the night away to “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” and more classic tunes in the must-see show of the holiday season.
This year we hope to take students to see two performances at The National Theatre. These tickets will be $65 and must be purchased at least 6 weeks in advance.
