CADD
Olivia Horner a senior am now in my 3rd year at the Tech Center. I am in CADD and because of my interest in the field of Architecture and 3d Animation and decided to go back for an extra year to continue my learning and expanding to knew software like Maya and Adobe. I have decided to take a leap this year by preparing for Skills USA, getting involved in more clubs like FCA and stepping into a leadership position at my high schools theater program. I believe that taking these leaps is important as I love gaining new experiences and giving 100 percent effort in everything that I do even when it comes down to my hobbies, dancing, and sketching, as well as my classwork.
ACADEMY OF HEALTH
My name is Justine Hernandez, I am an Academy of Health Professions third year student. While I am also a senior year at Great Mills High School. I wanted to take this class because I am strongly passionate about working as pediatric cardiology for young kids that are born with childhood diseases, I think that I could make an impact in the care they receive because I personally have childhood heart disease. I also really enjoy spending my time working with different organizations and shelters that help take care of animals. In the past I have helped raise money to donate food for animals and like to spend my free time playing with the animals and making sure they are happy and having fun.
I also bake different kinds of treat that are healthy for animals so I could then donate to different shelters. I enjoy learning how to make different desserts for my family and friends.
I am running to be a skills usa candidate. I would make a good candidate because I'm someone deeply committed to give back to my time to my community. I'm organized, I value time, and I think I could bring new and different ideas for skills USA events. After my first year of tech center, I was able to go to Atlanta Georgia at the NLSC.
This allowed me to set up different competitions for other skills usa members that were competing. This experience was very fun because it allowed me to connect with many people who were from all around. In my experience I also helped run an event where we taught young kids bike safety, on how to be safe while riding a bike, and to avoid cars getting around them safely when they are on the road. I believe in giving back to my community, and I think that makes me a good candidate.

My name is Anna Burchynska and I'm a third year student at Academy of Health Professions as well as a senior at Leonardtown High School. As a person I have a huge passion for medicine, more specifically the impact that all these big procedures as well as tiny routine interactions can have on lives of people that you don't and probably won't ever fully know. On a more characteristic level, people that know me would probably say that I can be both a very particarly organized and creative person. I try my best to put a lot of effort into making sure that I take the things that matter seriously and perform to the best of my ability when it's important, with a specific plan and a schedule. At the same time, I don't hesitate to put new ideas or takes forward when it is reasonable to do so - whether that means professionally elaborating on what I think could be done differently or having to come up with ways to entertain my little three year old brother with pixie dust made out of tumeric and an obviously invisible blanket. Duuh.
