Ms. Labor was named the SMECO Outstanding Science Teacher of the year, 2022. She has worked for SMPCS for over 10 years. Professionally, Ms. Labor looks for opportunities to bring science back into the classroom. She encourages her students to think about their futures and where they can find science in their world. She participated in Space Camp with educators from around the world and flew simulated missions to the International Space Station and Mars. She volunteered to train like a marine for a week in Parris Island and learned about various military paths students can pursue after high school. Ms. Labor continues her professional development during the summers. In July, 2022, she attended the Astronomy workshop at Penn State University.
When Ms. Labor is not in school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys boating on the Potomac River and traveling to see new places.
