Our Freshman Academy provides academic intervention, teaches organizational and communication skills, and supports the development of college and career goals. You will have two elective periods to complete other graduation requirements such as fine arts and physical education, or you can opt to take other elective courses that are offered here at CHS.

Rising Freshmen are recommended for the program by their 8th grade team based on a records review of the following areas:

The Freshman Academy is a “school within a school” at each of the high schools. The Freshman Academy Staff meet daily to support student progress. The program’s intent is to have reduced class sizes, and offers extra class time for more personalized classwork assistance.

Even though your core-content class sizes will be small in size, you will have access to BIG opportunities at Chopticon. We encourage all students to participate in the many clubs and activities that are available during our one hour lunch (Pride Time).
We also encourage each and every Brave to try-out for a sport, one of our several bands or choirs, or a role in one of our fantastic theater productions.
There is something for everyone at CHS.
