After being invited and accepted to attend the Sigma Xi Second Annual iFoRE conference, I traveled to California to present my findings from SURF. I want to thank the biology department at St. Mary's College of Maryland for helping to fund this trip. I would also like to acknowledge all of the amazing people I spoke with at the conference. I had an amazing time and I left excited to continue work on my research!
This summer my research proposal and application were accepted by the Seahawk Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at SMCM and received funding. Since May I have been conducting my experiment studying legume/rhizobia mutualism interactions in clover cover crops. Additionally, I have been engaging in teambuilding activities to get to know the other fellows and mentors.Â
