The Hess House was built by the Hess family from Washington DC around 1915. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen with dish washer, microwave, electric cooktop but propane gas oven, a laundry room with washer dryer, a formal dining room and living room, an enclosed sleeping porch, two screened in sleeping porches and a side brick deck to the kitchen. All rooms are furnished. We have had previous tenants be able to obtain WIFI there and cable for television. By furnished, the house includes linens, cookware, glassware, dishes, utensils, etc. One only needs a favorite coffee pot (though we have one) and their toothbrush. There is a storage shed to the rear for a few items such as bikes etc. if needed.
The rent is $1150.00 plus utilities which would include Taylor Gas for propane gas for cooking and heating for the heat pump. Air conditioning is central air. SMECO for electric, MetCom for water/sewer. Parking is off street. Tenants would either cut the grass or pay to have it cut and my Husband usually splits the cost of the cuts with whomever occupies the home. It runs around $70.00 per cut - or twice a month.
House is close to shopping area in Callaway and is about 20 minutes from the campus of the College. it is near the historic Piney Point Lighthouse and is a great area for biking, walking, kayaking etc.

The unit has a separate entrance with a large living/dining/kitchen area. This apartment is also furnished with dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware and linens. The washer and dryer are on the premises to the rear of the property and the tenant has the use of them along with my Husband and me. This is a one bedroom connected to a full tile bath. There is an additional room across the hall that can be used as an office or if there is an occasional guest. Good closet space.
The rent is $1200.00. Air conditioning and heat are by heat pump. There is also back up electric baseboard heat. Owner pays for the water/sewer and for basic cable. Tenant pays for electric which is separately metered.
