This page will answer most questions about the apartment, like how to work the Roku TV, the wi-fi password, how to wash your laundry, how to check-out, and how to get those annoying LED lights to stop flashing, Below is a list that should answer most of your questions.
Check-in and Check-out times: Check-in: Any time after 3pm.
Check-out: by 11am.
You can check with us a day or two before your arrival to see if an early check-in is possible. We can't always promise an early check-in but we'll do our best to thoroughly clean and prepare the apartment as quick as possible. You can also leave your bags with us either before you check-in or after you check-out.
Wi-Fi: Network: Verizon_DCLL7N
Pass: bun-cub4-tamp
Parking: The city only gives one parking pass per resident, and I'll need your tag numbers, state, make and color of vehicle. Sometimes I can get a second pass from a neighbor but that depends on whether she's using it. You can check with me and I'll see what I can do--but no promises. Parking is on the street, and I almost always find a space on Isherwood St, and usually directly in front of the apartment building.
Pets: If you're coming with pets, please use the pet sofa covers that are located in the bottom drawer of the bedroom dresser. We also prefer that you don't let your pups pee in the backyard since it destroys the grass. But if it happens while your hanging out with them in the back, then please hose down the area with water. Thanks!
Sleeping: There are 2 pull-out sofas in the living room. The blue one is a queen size regular pull-out sofa, and the black one is a "click-clack" couch where you pull it forward until it "clicks" and then push it back until it "clacks." It sleeps 1 person comfortably. There are 2 air-mattresses in the bedroom and living room utility closets.
Towels, Blankets, & Linens: There should be enough towels & soaps in the bathroom to last your stay, but just let us know if you run out or need a fresh set of anything. You will also find extra linens, pillows and blankets in the the dresser drawers, the bedroom closet, and inside the storage unit at the foot of the bed.
Noise: Please note that the walls and floors in the building are quite thin, so you may occasionally hear neighbors coming and going, watching TV, or playing music. The surrounding tenants are aware of this and make an effort to keep noise to a minimum—especially during nighttime hours.
We kindly ask that you also be mindful of your volume, as there are residents living directly below and next to the apartment. Your consideration helps ensure a pleasant environment for everyone.
Laundry: The washer and dryer are located just outside the kitchen door, with enough detergent to wash your clothes.
TV: The Roku Smart TV has many premium channels, including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Showtime, HBO, and others. If you go to “Streaming Channels” on the home page you’ll see many other channels, and you’re free to download any of the other free channels. Sometimes, the premium channels need to be updated and ask for a code, which you can usually get by following the directions on the screen, choosing Verizon Fios as the service provider, and then entering the code from the computer or your smartphone. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any problems and I’ll come over and set it straigh
Ambient LED Lighting: There are three different sets of LED lighting in the apartment, each controlled with its own remote. They never seem to work right, and if they annoy you then please just turn them off. Here's some brief instructions on each set of lights:
1. Kitchen LED lights: remote should be on the kitchen shelf. Control the lights by pointing the remote toward the stove.
2. Living Room LED lights: white remote is on the coffee table (single and double tap to adjust lighting)
3. Bathroom LEDs: point remotes toward the utility closet in the living room.
Backyard and Deck: There's a propane BBQ in the back-yard and a fire-pit, but please be very cautious when using them--especially the fire pit. If you do light a fire, keep the flames low, don’t leave it untended. (Directions on how to use dual timer hose can be found here)
Smoking: Please don’t smoke in the apartment, but you’re free to smoke on the deck, in the back-yard, or the front porch.
Neighborhood: The neighborhood is currently undergoing rapid development and is a diverse neighborhood--both racially and economically. If you’re not used to inner-city living then you might find it uncomfortable at first, but we've lived here for 15 years and never had any problems. We feel quite safe walking around the neighborhood or riding our bikes down to H St. or Eastern Market—even at night. But things do happen and so be aware of your surroundings. If you’re out late at night and/or slightly intoxicated, then Ubers and Lyfts are cheap and plenty.
Check out: You don't need to do anything special during check out and we'll take care of everything. Just turn off the lights, adjust the heat or A/C, and lock the back door. If you need to throw away trash during your stay, then the bins are are located just outside the back fence.
Thanks for staying with us, and travel safe!
