The Call for Proposals for the 2023 3I Conference is now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal and we hope to see you at the conference!
CITL welcomes proposals from SMCM, CSM, and SMCPS community members for presentations at the 2022 3I Conference. This year's conference will be held in-person at the SMCM campus on August 14-17, 2023 Remote connection to the conference will also be available.
Each 3I Conference typically addresses a theme, with submissions encouraged to align within the thematic vision. Given the incredible shifts in higher education over the past year, we have foregone any one specific theme in order to promote widespread reflection on how each individual wishes to move forward with their instructional practices. As such, this year we invite proposals for presentations on any topic regarding student instruction. Of note, our sessions do revolve around the following topics:
Place-Based Learning
Scholarly Teaching and Education Research
Generative Artificial Intelligence
Equitable Faculty EvaluationÂ
The Undergraduate Student Experience
Acceptance to the Conference will be considered based upon the following criteria:
Relevance of topic to the wider community (in particular, topics that can be applied to multiple disciplines and/or both K12 and higher education)
Connection of the topic to inclusive teaching practices
Likelihood of audience engagement during the presentation (i.e. robust discussion/Q&A, interactive polling or other active engagement techniques)
Ability of the audience to translate or otherwise implement the idea(s) presented
Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Proposals must be submitted by Sunday July 16, 2023 by 11:59 pm to be considered for this year's conference. Presenters will be notified no later than July 31st if they have been accepted.
