Turn in Pose Sheet to the Google Classroom assignment
Thursday, October 16: Turn in 10 thumbnail sketches to the Google Classroom assignment
Animation is all about change, transformation from one state to another. Part of doing it successfully involves clearly communicating those states through strong poses. For this assignment, you'll create a pose sheet that includes at least 5 different poses.
Start with making thumbnail sketches from observation; turn in at least 10 of these for your WIP. (These can be in your sketchbook, submit images of the pages). Then select at least 5 poses you want to expand upon. Consider how to exaggerate poses to magnify identifying characteristics of your character. These are known as attitude poses. As Eric Goldberg states, "By using strong attitudes, you can animate into, out of, or around them - thus making your animation more dynamic and more readable." Poses should have a clear line of action, and communicate the character's emotional state not just through facial expression but through the entire body.
