Students are eligible to start earning Community Service hours immediately after their Gr. 8 Graduation. The Public Libraries sometimes have opportunities as well as the links below. The form to track hours is linked on the right. Students are encouraged to submit this form as soon as hours are completed and signed off. Not all lines need to be completed before it can be submitted!
Students are also encouraged to submit ALL hours. Don't stop at 40! Upon graduation, there are awards for students with top hours!

Can non-Catholic students register at STA?
Yes, all students are welcome, and may register at St. Thomas Aquinas using the same process as explained in the New Student Zone.
When will I get my class schedule?
Students will not likely receive their schedule until the week before the first day of school, likely the Thursday before. Check parent and student emails in the week before school in case there is any change to that decision.
All students are required to join the Guidance Classroom for your grade (in the student version of the Google Classroom application), once you have access to your student accounts, likely not until the end of summer for new students to the school board. This is where students request a guidance appointment and get important and timely announcements about Guidance information, such as timetable changes, summer school registration, course selections, important dates, and scholarship/award opportunities.
When will I get my SMCDSB student account and email address?
New students starting in September will receive their account/address in the week or 2 before the school year starts. Students who join the school directly into the school year will receive their accounts/email within a few days of joining the school. Upon receipt of your student email address, you should join the Guidance Google classroom for your grade, as outlined in the question above. The information for the Guidance Classroom is on the window of the Guidance Office.
