Co-founder of Clearpath Robotics a multi-million dollar company with over 300 clients spread across 30 countries

Ryan Gariepy was valedictorian at St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School in 2004, receiving seven awards for academic achievement and community service. After high school, he attended the University of Waterloo, graduating on the dean’s list with a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering.

While completing his Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Ryan teamed up with three of his classmates to found Clearpath Robotics. Within the last four years, Clearpath has expanded from a small start up to a multi-million dollar company with over 300 clients spread across 30 countries. The company was recently recognized, alongside MDA Space Missions and NASA, as one of the leading contributors to Canadian robotics.

Ryan takes his knowledge of robotics on the road, speaking across Canada and the United States and serving on several advisory committees. Most recently, he had the privilege of speaking on behalf of the Canadian High Commission in London, England.

St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School was a significant positive influence in Ryan’s life. He credits his time there for providing a solid foundation and helping build and maintain relationships over the years.

Ryan continues to volunteer his time in the community and is also a founding member of the Open Source Robotics Foundation, a non-profit initiative to further the development of robotics technology for the benefit of the entire world.
