The Importance of the The Compass (SMCC's Student Handbook)
The Compass contains all of our policies and procedures; such as Add/Drop, Withdrawal, and Grades & Grading. You can access a digital copy of The Compass in the "Things to Know" area in MyDegree (MySMCC > My Maine Guide > My Degree > Things to Know > College Handbook (The Compass). It's also a planner, and physical copies are available in the Welcome Center! The Student Calendar is also available on the same screen, this will show you key dates for the academic year.
Find your program's degree map!
The video above will show you where to find your program's degree map on MySMCC. You can find them under My Maine Guide > New Student Advising (on the very left-hand side of the screen). On the New Student Advising screen, they will be listed under "Degree Maps" on the left. Use the recommended course selection for the first semester of your program as you are signing up for courses. Note that your first semester may look different if you place into brush up Math and/or English courses.
