Mereweather Estatey

Mereweather Estate, located at Dunkeld in the  Southern Grampians, Victoria, Australia offering a unique country experience.

Our cottage set in on the brow of the hill over- looking  Mount Sturgeon at Dunkeld. It has the most amazing views, a beautiful deck  in front of large picture windows, from where you can look straight up Mt Sturgeon, across to Piccaninny  and then Mt Abrupt, with the Wannon River weaving around the river red gums at the base of the mountain all this only 200 meters from the cottage. The cottage is a wonderful base from which to partake of some of the many great walks and hiking trails, now available around Dunkeld and into the Grampians National Park, including the Grampains Peaks trail from Halls Gap to Dunkeld.

You can watch the sun set to the West while the kangaroos and birds come to drink at the waterholes in the river. All this peace and quiet, but with good cafes and coffee only a 10 minute walk away in the main street of Dunkeld, which also offers the fine dining of the Royal Mail Hotel. 

Share a little of Dunkeld’s history, the 10 hectares around the cottage have been in the Mereweather family for more than 150 years. You can walk around the brow of the hill, sit on the rocks and watch nature at its best. This is a great place for the artist, photographer and a wonderful back drop for that special wedding photo.The cottage has a Queen bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom, all linen and furniture is of excellent quality. 

We do have a no smoking policy within the cottage. Facilities include, TV, DVD Player, Stereo, Towels and Linen included in tariff, Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner, Wood Heater(wood supplied), Fans, Electric Blankets, Laundry with washing machine and dryer and ironing needs, Fully equipped kitchen with Microwave, Full  sized oven and Refrigerator/ Freezer, Dishwasher, Outdoor  seating and off street under cover parking, Full sized shower, hairdryer, separate toilet room. There is plenty of room for children to ride bikes and play ball games around the cottage, Your hosts are Bill and Heather Funk and our son Robert.
