IIT Madras 5G/6G Testbed
IIT Madras 5G/6G Testbed
5G Testbed is a joint project funded by Department of Telecommunication for developing Indigenous 5G Base Station.
I have been working with the Systems Simulation team of 5G at the 5G Testbed Lab, IIT Madras, for the last four years where my work is mainly focused on understanding 3GPP Technical specifications documents and implementing various Physical Layer algorithms for 5G compliant Base Station.
The 5G Testbed support various features
Peak data rates of 800 Mbps
Three 5G base stations deployed in the IIT Madras Campus
MIMO: 16T16R, 32T32R, 64T64R
Developing mmWave system @ 26GHz
Co-developed with SAMEER, CEWiT, IITB and IITK
3GPP
Actively participating and contributing in the 3GPP RAN1 standardisation meetings from RAN#110 onwards as a part of the delegation from IITM.
Topics followed:
AI/ML
Ambient Internet of Things (A-IoT)
IIT Madras AI for 6G website:
AI/ML will power the next generation of wireless technologies, making them smarter, more efficient, and more cost-effective. At IIT Madras, our team of researchers is involved in cutting-edge research and standardization on AI/ML for wireless communications. Using our Indigenous 5G Testbed, we collect hundreds of thousands of data samples for AI/ML research and make them freely available for non-commercial use.
