Glipmse into my world
I come from the beautiful state of Odisha, home to Lord Jagannath and a land known for its rich traditions, vibrant festivals, and warm hospitality. I grew up in Cuttack - the Silver City of India - where you'll never be too far from a plate of dahi bara aloo dum, a lively Durga Puja celebration, or a spirited debate over which sweet shop serves the best rasagola. It is a city that effortlessly blends history with everyday life, and it will always be home.
My fascination with science began with a simple curiosity about how nature works. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with physics, especially electrodynamics. There’s something incredibly satisfying about how Maxwell’s equations tie everything together so elegantly, almost like nature speaking in its own language. I’ve always been drawn to questions that don’t have obvious answers, and physics became my favorite way of making sense of the world. It keeps things interesting - every answer leads to another question, and there’s always something new to figure out.
That curiosity slowly found its way into research. Somewhere along the journey, I realized I enjoyed not just learning physics, but actually working with it, playing around with ideas, testing them, and seeing where they lead. I eventually joined the Department of Physics at IIT Madras to pursue research, where I now spend most of my time exploring photonics through simulations. A lot of what I do involves trying to understand how light behaves in tiny structures, especially in systems like perovskite solar cells. What I enjoy most is the process itself, starting with a simple idea, building it step by step, and sometimes being surprised by what comes out of it.
