August
August is the protagonist of the book ''Wonder''. He studies at Beecher Prep and is a fifth grader. August suffers from a rare disease called mandibulofacial dysostosis, which causes his face to morph together. Due to this disease, August has endured strange looks from others since he was a child, and no one wants to play with him. However, August is a brave and strong boy. For instance, he refuses to be affected by others' hurtful words and chooses to ignore them. Furthermore, August has a sense of humor. He often laughs at himself to make others happy. This aspect of his personality has helped him make some genuine friends.
Via
Via is August's older sister, and she has blue eyes and black hair. She is a student at Faulkner High School, and her boyfriend's name is Justin. Via is incredibly independent and understanding because her mom always prioritizes August. Despite this, Via never complains to her parents about her own grievances, knowing that her younger brother August is going through multiple surgeries.
Even though life hasn't been very kind to Via, she receives the most genuine love from her grandmother. Her grandma once expressed that she loves Via the most, and this support has become a pillar for Via.
Summer
Summer has green eyes and tan curly hair, and she is biracial. However, her father passed away a few years ago.
Summer is a friend of August's, and even though she is aware that many people exclude him, she never judges others by their appearance. Instead, she sees August's strengths that others may overlook, such as his wit and sense of humor.Â
In addition, despite being viewed in a different light by others as friends with August, Summer never broke up with August and made it clear that she was attracted to August's intrinsic qualities.
Jack
Jack is August's best friend, and he has blond hair. His family is not wealthy, and they reside in a neighborhood called North River Heights, where lower-income families live.
Jack is a kind and considerate individual because he can empathize with August, despite his own fear of August's appearance. Furthermore, Jack is aware that August will face bullying in middle school, so he changes his attitude and becomes August's friend. Moreover, Jack possesses a strong sense of justice. He even punches Julian for saying something derogatory about August. Jack truly exemplifies what it means to be a good friend.

Julian
Julian is a 10-year-old kid learning at Beecher Prep. He has a head of dark, somewhat long hair. In the story, he is very mean to August, even instigating others to bully him. Perhaps this behavior is influenced by his parents and his living environment. In the eyes of the general public, his parents are not seen as"mature adults," which may have contributed to Julian's unpleasant and extreme behavior. However, he has not completely forsaken kindness and eventually admits his wrong actions to the principal and apologizes to August.
Justin
Justin is a boy who wears round frame glasses. He is rather quiet and shy, but he enjoys playing the fiddle, acting, and spending time with his friends. His parents divorced when he was four years old, so he prefers staying with friends more than his family. Justin is a high school student at Faulkner. He meets Via, a beautiful girl who becomes an important person in his life. She encourages him to take on lead roles in our town. They become a couple and Justin also befriends Via's brother, August.

Miranda
Miranda is a 16-year-old student at Faulkner High School. She appears outgoing and cheerful on the surface, but deep down, she feels lonely in her heart. Her parents divorced, and she envied Via's family. After high school, Miranda became increasingly estranged from her friend Via. She gained popularity and dyed her hair a light honey pink color. She started hanging out with a new group of friends who would often ask guys out. However, these friends, who seemed close to her, didn't treat her sincerely. None of them were present when she had important performances.
