Summer's maturity and stability can be easily observed in WONDER. For example, whether it is her attitude towards others or the way she looks at death, her maturity can be found by readers.
Therefore, I speculates that the reason for Summer's mature traits is probably because of her father's occupation(platoon sergeant) and death, which allowed Summer to face life's difficulties early and make progress as a result.
In general, ''Butterfly'' is a picture book records Summer's story of facing difficulties and growing up, and I hope you will like it!
