Parents need an Acceptable Use Policy created for their household. Reason being is that this will give more structure in the home. Giving children basic structure in the household creates an environment for disciplined upbringing. Having rules states your expectations, it makes everyone in the household’s life easier. It helps the child grow to be responsible.

To make the children feel more comfortable with the rules, asking the children for their input on the rules will allow them to feel more confident and willing to follow the rules. Another way to make them to feel comfortable with the rules, is having picture examples to explain what is required of them. Considering their age and maturity level into account, if the child is too young, they will not understand the instructions. Older kids, like the feeling of being in control.

Setting consequences and consistent when rules are broken are important to allow them to know their limitations when doing something.
