Ms. Perez has been a Spanish CP and AP Spanish language teacher at San Leandro High School for almost 17 years since joining the district in August 2008. She holds a B.A from "Universidad del Valle" in Modern Languages with a major in English, as well as a minor in Spanish. Ms. Perez later graduated from "Universidad de Leon" in Spain where she earned her Masters in Applied Linguistics. With her deep cultural heritage and profound knowledge in both the English and Spanish languages, Ms. Perez has become an honored and valued teacher in the SLHS language space.

As someone who was born in an education-centered household (her mother and 2 sisters were teachers), Ms. Perez has teaching deeply rooted in her early on. However, it was her mother who was the biggest inspiration to decide to become a teacher.
Apart from teaching Spanish at SLHS, Ms. Perez spends her free time reading books in the comfort of her home and weightlifting frequently at her nearby gym.
