Be ready to start on time. A late arrival is equivalent to an unexcused absence.
Be prepared for various practice/game conditions (indoors/outdoors, warm/cold, rain, etc.) and fully equipped (i.e., individual batting helmet, glove, catcher’s gear, etc.).
Attend all practices and games. Provide your coach prior notice if you will be absent or late (See player attendance policy).
Commit to the core values of the Jr. Bills Baseball Program.
Stay with the team after each practice or game until the team is dismissed by the coach.
Wear team-approved practice or game gear in an appropriate fashion.
Be an outstanding citizen. Participate in team service projects.
Maintain academic eligibility. Players will communicate any problems that they are having maintaining a “C” or above grade in all classes and/or difficulty keeping up with class assignments.
Abstain from the use of derogatory language and gestures towards others.
Adhere to the school’s policies regarding prohibited use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco (including vaping and smokeless tobacco).
Inform the head coach of any injury or illness, including doctor’s orders and time table for any treatment.
Be coachable. Follow the advice from your coaches. Be able to dialogue with coaches about ways to improve your game.
Take care of your health in order to perform at their best each practice/game (i.e., getting proper rest, healthful eating, managing stress, etc.).
Place baseball as a priority in their lives during the spring season. They will consider baseball as a job that they must attend despite any other personal commitments outside of school and religious events.
Commit to an off-season training program that is convenient to their schedule in order to develop their personal fitness and baseball skills.
Take ownership of the program and facilities.
