Full-time Faculty Position in Political Science and International Relations
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at SLU-Madrid is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in Political Science and International Relations, beginning in January 2027.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Political Science, International Relations, or a related field. Preference will be given to expertise in International Law combined with a geographical specialization in Africa, the Balkans, or SE Asia. The candidate will also demonstrate evidence of effective teaching, an active research agenda that demonstrates excellence, and a strong commitment to service, such as active participation in departmental and university committees and professional service to the discipline. Fluency in English is required and familiarity with the US educational system is preferred. The candidate must have experience working with an international student population within a culturally diverse educational environment.
This twelve-month renewable full-time faculty position has a teaching load of six courses (18 credits) per academic year and may also involve graduate courses. Spanish labor law applies to the position.

The successful candidate should have teaching and scholarly interests across core areas of computer engineering, including, but not limited to, computer architecture and high-performance computing, robotics and automation, control systems, cybersecurity, networking and communications, data science and machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in laboratory-based instruction in both electrical and computer engineering. Teaching responsibilities will include advising undergraduate capstone projects, as well as serving as an academic advisor and mentor to undergraduate students.
The candidate should also demonstrate excellence in research and scholarly activity. While all faculty are expected to prioritize teaching and research, service to the department, campus, and university is also an important component of the role. A valid work permit for Spain is preferred.
