SYNOPSIS

Henri and Sonia are putting their son to bed when Hubert and Ines arrive for dinner, a day earlier than expected ... As the evening degenerates, Yasmina Reza's play - elegantly translated by Christopher Hampton - blends cruel observations with high comedy in an hilarious and poignant examination of our most personal intimacies and private longings. We see three versions of the same socially hapless evening in which the characters change subtly each time, providing a dramatically different outcome for each.

Characters

HENRI. Astrophysicist. SONIA's husband and father to Arnaud. Hopes to secure a promotion through this dinner. 

SONIA. Former lawyer. HENRI's wife and mother to Arnaud. Confident and assertive (seductive?).

HUBERT. Senior Astrophysicist. INEZ's Husband. May or may not have the ability to influence HENRI's promotion. Arrogant but suave. 

INEZ. HUBERT's wife. Feels as though her husband makes jokes at her expense. Notices more than she lets on.

Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega is the SLU Chapter of the National Theatre Honors Fraternity. This organization produces one student-led production a year, with the mentorship of theatre faculty. It is student produced, directed, designed, and acted! This year the production is Life x3 by Yasmina Reza.
