The Saint Louis University Psi Chi chapter offers two annual awards, the Sayons Award and the Psi Chi Research Award, presented at the Psi Chi Symposium in the spring semester of each year. Application available for undergraduate and graduate students
Awarded to an individual that exhibits high academic achievement, in addition to significant contributions to the Department of Psychology and the surrounding community.

The resume or CV should include all of the following:
Superior scholarship
Commitment to service
Involvement in the SLU Psychology Department
Your cumulative GPA
Your psychology GPA
Awarded to two graduate and two undergraduate students. By recognizing and awarding the most outstanding undergraduate and graduate empirical research poster presentations at the annual APS convention, the APS Convention Society Research Awards promotes the first authors' careers in psychology by conferring official recognition from Psi Chi and a cash prize.

Requirements
In order to be considered, applicants must
Be the first author;
Be a student Psi Chi member
Have an APS member as a sponsor
Have only one application; and
Submit an application for acceptance into the regular APS poster session and then submit the same application to this portal.
Note: Projects submitted for possible presentation at other professional meetings are not acceptable for the APS Convention.
Recipients must present the awarded proposal at the upcoming APS Convention in order to receive the award and award funds.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Applicants will provide the exact same information (i.e., title, co-authors, 50 word abstract, and the poster summary up to 500 words) that was accepted to APS.
Submissions must be written in English.
Poor spelling and grammar will penalize otherwise sound submissions. Faculty sponsors are encouraged to review submissions prior to entry.
Only research that has been completed by the time of the submission will be considered for review.

Description:
National membership fees are paid and local dues are waived for a newly accepted member of Psi Chi who is from an underrepresented group in psychology, including students of color, first-generation college students, and students who have overcome other social, physical, or economic barriers to academic excellence and who plan to pursue advanced degrees in psychological or other graduate fields of study.
Applicants should submit a 500 word essay describing the future impact they hope to have on psychology or their primary field of study. The impact essay will be the primary component of scholarship consideration followed by overall and psychology GPA considered as secondary components. Scholarship sum is put towards membership fees on behalf of the recipient, a value of $75.

Undergraduate Psi Chi Scholarship
PURPOSE
The Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarships help defray the direct educational costs (e.g., tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks, etc.) of exceptional Psi Chi undergraduate students.
BUDGET
Eight scholarships of $3,000 each are awarded annually for a total of $24,000.
DEADLINE
All applications are due to the application portal by June 26, 2023.
ELIGIBILITY
Any undergraduate Psi Chi member who will be or is enrolled in a psychology or psychology related major for the upcoming Fall 2022 semester who has not previously received a Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship and will be able to use the full $3,000 by June 30, 2023 is eligible to apply.
CRITERIA
Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship recipients are chosen based on Psi Chi activity, personal qualities consistent with Psi Chi's Mission, financial need, and academic excellence.
SUBMISSION ELEMENTS
To be considered for the Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarships, you will need the following in order to complete the application before the deadline, June 27, 2022 at 11:59pm HST.
1. Your Psi Chi ID number. You must be a member at the time of submission. Your Psi Chi ID number is available when logged into your member account at psichi.org. Log in to get to your Member Admin page, go to Manage Profile section and click on Member Information. The number is listed as first item on that page.
2. Your curriculum vitae which should include any and all Psi Chi involvement and activities, on campus or elsewhere. For your reference, here are some sample CVs for you to use. Sample 1 Sample 2
3. Your current official or unofficial transcript. Official transcripts should be ordered and deliviered to Psi Chi directly from your institution. Transcripts that were first issued to another party will be considered an unofficial transcript. Official transcripts which need to be mailed may be sent to Psi Chi, 651 East 4th Street, Suite 600, Chattanooga, TN USA 37403 or emailed to awards.support@psichi.org. Electronic, emailed officials transcripts are preferred.
4. Personal financial information. This information will be requested by questions within the application form. The application form is only viewable and available while the application portal is open; which is open for 30 days prior to the deadline.
5. Cost of tuition documentation for the upcoming fall semester.
6. Your most recent financial aid award letter or package from your institution which should show the financial support for which you were offered, ineligible, accepted, or declined, preferably showing information pertaining to the upcoming fall semester.
7. A financial need essay (up to 500 words) should describe your financial need situation. Please use actual United States Dollar (USD) amounts when discussing cost of attendance and other aspects of your situation. Address financial factors that create barriers to completing a bachelor's degree and other financial factors or obligations that are not reflected elsewhere in the application.
8. A personal essay (up to 1,500 words) that describes your past, current, and future involvement in the science and application of psychology on campus and elsewhere, academic achievements, and leadership activities, especially those related to Psi Chi.
9. A personal letter of recommendation from your Psi Chi chapter faculty advisor which should comment on your personal qualities as compared to Psi Chi's Mission as well as your Psi Chi chapter involvement.
Note. Be aware that elements #5 and #6 are not required by the online application form for your application to be marked as complete and "submitted." However, not providing this information may diminish your chances of receiving a scholarship. However, evaluators will take into consideration how difficult obtaining this information may be for international students.
It is your responsibility as the applicant to ensure that all submission elements, including the letter of recommendation from your Psi Chi faculty advisor, are uploaded and submitted by the deadline. NO APPLICATIONS MAY BE STARTED AFTER THE DEADLINE.
If you have a question or issue concerning your application that the program info, FAQs, or the application form doesn't answer, and there are no more remaining business hours before the deadline, please be sure to email awards.support@psichi.org BEFORE the deadline. Emails with questions or issues concerning an application sent BEFORE the deadline will receive a response that will take into account the situation, including any unusual amount of non-business hours/days, such as weekends. Be aware that questions or issues emailed AFTER the deadline may not be considered for resolution.
While the application portal is open, you can start, save, submit, review, edit, and re-submit your application at any time prior to the deadline. After the deadline has passed, SmarterSelect will automatically remove the application from your applications table, and you will no longer be able to view or edit any information.
