As Co-Directors of the Neuroscience Program at Saint Louis University, we are thrilled to learn that you have been accepted into our program and we hope that you will join our community of passionate students interested in the brain and behavior. At this point, you may have some questions about the program or are simply seeking further information. Here are three key things that set our Neuroscience Program apart from other programs across the country:
SLU’s Neuroscience Program is a truly interdisciplinary degree program. We are proud to offer a degree that is independent of any particular department, combining the best of both Biology and Psychology departments. Moreover, we offer elective options from other departments, including courses in Anthropology, Linguistics, and Neuroethics. This approach provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the field and prepares them to tackle the challenges that arise in a dynamic environment.
SLU’s Neuroscience Program is designed with the future in mind. Many of our students are interested in post-graduate programs such as medical school, clinical psychology, neuroscience research, among other fields. We equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in these fields and become leaders in their respective areas of interest.
SLU’s Neuroscience Program was initially developed by undergraduates who created their ideal major. Since then, the program has continued to evolve and grow, with new electives and options added each year to meet the diverse needs and interests of our students.
If you are still considering your options and have any questions about the Neuroscience Program or Saint Louis University, please do not hesitate to reach out to either one of us at alaina.bakernigh@slu.edu or tony.buchanan@health.slu.edu.
