Kendyl is a PhD Candidate in American Studies and designed this course to help bridge the gap between STEM and the humanities. Having previously worked in the health care field, she wanted to bring her experience from the "real world" and academia together in a way that illuminates disparities in health care delivery, access, and outcomes while providing the historical context to help explain why American medicine is the way that it is and promote critical thinking about how future generations can improve it to ensure quality care for all Americans.
