There are so many ways to read! 

Renaissance: Accelerated Reader (AR):

We will utilize Accelerated Reader (AR) as encouragement for students to read at home. 

Students can ONLY access AR through ClassLink. For 5th & 6th graders, quizzes are available Monday - Sunday, day or night. For 4th graders, until they have a firm grasp on AR, we ask that they only take quizzes while they are school under the supervision of the teachers. Lastly, we encourage students to read one book at a time, not multiple! 

Strategies for strong readers:

• take notes on post-its while reading and use them while taking the AR quiz. 

• set a schedule! One chapter per day; 10 pages a day; 15 minutes per day - whatever works for your student!

• Popcorn read with your student.

• Ask questions before, during, and after reading to recap!

Please remember - students are only permitted to take the Reading Practice quizzes! Any points earned from other quiz types will be deactivated.
