About Me
Hello! My name is Lauren Devonshire Kocis and I have been the school counselor at Hopewell Elementary School since 2019. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Kutztown University with PA Certification, PreK - 12th. Before coming to Hopewell, I spent several years working as a school counselor at Circle of Seasons Charter School supporting students in Kindergarten through 7th grade. Prior to that, I spent many enjoyable years raising my family.
In my free time, I most enjoy doing things with my family. My husband, Scot, and I are very proud of our three children: Zachary (26), Zoe (23), and Owen (19). Together we love vacations in Maine and at the beach, hiking, biking, exploring, and watching lots of soccer. I can often be found reading, cooking and enjoying live music.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a school counselor is helping students develop an intrinsic belief in their potential.
