What is Rise?

Rise Academy is a Learning through Interests School. We were modeled after the Big Picture Schools. Students develop a learning plan that is authentic, meaningful, and relevant to them. Advisors help our students navigate through their interests to help them develop their learning plans. The goal is for students to have a well rounded, educational, and life-impacting school experience that will prepare them for life beyond high school - whether it be college, trade school, or career. Budgeted into their learning plans, is time to job shadow and/or intern in their various fields of interest. Students share their learning every 9 weeks at what is called an Exhibition. The learning is shared to a panel of their mentors, family, and peers. Learning is documented using an Exhibition Rubric to chart growth in the 5 competencies - Communication Skills, Social Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Empirical Reasoning, and Personal Qualities. The Requirements below show minimum requirements in order to "Level Up" towards graduation.
