History of the school
The predecessor of Singlong Elementary School was "Taichung County Jilong Public School". It was established on January 4, 1899.
A "study room" was set up in the village. The Japanese occupied it and instructed Wu Chaoguang, the governor of Jilong district, to organize the school, and turned private school into formal education. The school officially started in the Matsu Temple in the village on May 6, and all 14 students were transferred from the “study room”.
