For our beginning of the year project, we are doing a book study of the book "Because of Mr. Terupt" by Rob Buyea. This is a great book about a new teacher in a 5th grade classroom and the interactions between him and his students as they learn and grow throughout the school year.

 With our book study we will be delving into the character traits of the main characters and how they grow and change throughout their school year.   We will also be exploring some of the main events of the book as they happen.    We are reading the book as a class as we discuss and learn about each character and event together. Our assignments for the next few weeks will center around our book study, with class time for the students to complete them. Students' grades are based on their classroom participation/effort and the assignments.
