We aim to develop in our students:

• a curiosity and an interest in chemistry and the nature;

• an understanding of the concepts and theories in chemistry;

• manipulative and experimental skills, and an awareness of safety issues related to the handling of chemicals;

• an awareness of the provisional nature of explanations about natural phenomena, and the complex relationships between phenomena;

• attitudes that are crucial for scientific investigations include curiosity, honesty, persistence, critical thinking, the willingness to suspend judgment, and tolerance of uncertainty;

• an ability to make rational decisions and to solve problems involving chemistry;

• communicative skills used in the study of chemistry;
