To help give a larger insight into surviving your high school experience, we asked some seniors what they wish they knew before coming into high school and what they learned during high school. We put their advice anonymously below.
"Don't be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself."
"People will change for the better or for worse and that's okay."
"I wish I had known that high school isn't as bad as they make it seem, the work is hard of course but the high school lifestyle you see on TV is the complete opposite."
"You can't depend on everyone to be there for you and that you have to do things on your own! You're going to have all of these friends but that will change over time! Do you for you!"
"Don't stress and have fun."
"Just try to stay positive."
"Take a break. Exercising, doing/watching something that makes you laugh, Facetime friends & family"
"Try to have designated places in which you do certain things, to initiation a work/fun balance."
"If you feel frustrated with things, just take a break, (it's something that works for me and once I calm down I'm able to continue.)"
"Imposter syndrome is very real."
"In twenty years, no one will care."
"Everyone won't like you and that's okay."
